Indonesia's National Focal Point for ESC rests with the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, which is a newly created ministry following the merger of the Ministries of the Environment and Forestry.  ESC is long established in Indonesia with cities' efforts being acknowledged through the Adipura Environmental Awards.  Indonesia has contributed to the ASEAN ESC Model Cities Programme through supporting city activities and disseminating good practices nationally.

Thailand

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment is the home of the National Focal Point for ESC in Thailand.  Thailand has long been a supporter of ESC work in line with His Majesty's sufficiency economy philosophy.  Thailand established the Livable City Award in 2004 to highlight excellence in urban sustainability.  The national government contributes to the ASEAN ESC Model Cities Programme by supporting the cities in their activities as well as hosting a national workshop for information sharing, networking and good practice dissemination.
